JM Family Enterprises Introduces New Workplace Inclusion and Effectiveness Department

Over the last year, leadership at JM Family Enterprises has taken intentional steps to more deeply engage in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). In the company’s pursuit to embrace different perspectives at every level and better understand how diverse ideas drive innovation, they continue to leverage diversity as a strategic advantage.

As part of this ongoing initiative, the company has developed a new DE&I function within its Human Resources department to guide its people strategy moving forward. This new function will merge DE&I with existing Organizational Effectiveness and Associate Experience teams to deliver enterprise-wide solutions that strengthen the organization’s already celebrated culture and ensure long-term organizational health.

The new, combined department will be called Workplace Inclusion and Effectiveness, and will be led by Shani Lenard. Lenard began her career with JM Family in 2019 as director of Talent Programs within the Talent Management department and has been largely responsible for leading the company’s DE&I efforts thus far. Throughout her career, she has held key Human Resources senior leadership roles for various organizations, with a focus on talent development, organizational development, learning, associate experience and change management.

The Workplace Inclusion and Effectiveness team will build upon the initiatives and opportunities already underway as part of JM Family’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
