Andre L. In his role, Hall leads a team that is responsible for all legal matters related to the regulatory compliance, litigation and transactional activities of JM Family’s corporate legal department.

Hall began working at JM Family in 2007 as an associate counsel in the corporate legal department. In 2011, he transitioned to the company’s subsidiary, World Omni Financial Corp. (dba Southeast Toyota Finance), a captive financial services company for Toyota dealers and customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. He was named assistant vice president and deputy general counsel of World Omni in 2014 and was elevated to the role of vice president and general counsel in 2017. During his tenure as general counsel for World Omni, he successfully led the company through its first examination by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In 2021, Hall returned to JM Family to assume his current position.

Hall started his career as a financial analyst in the collateralized mortgage obligations group at Deloitte in New York. He later became an attorney working for New York-based law firms Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. Hall relocated to Florida in 2000 where he continued practicing corporate law at Akerman in Miami.

Hall earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Bernard M. Baruch College (City University of New York) and is a New York State licensed certified public accountant. He received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1997, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He is a member of the New York State Bar, Florida Bar and American Bar Association. Hall served as a mentor for students in Take Stock in Children for several years. He has been a member of the Board of the YMCA of South Florida for many years and now serves on the executive committee. He resides in Plantation, Florida with his wife and children.

Heather Bascome is assistant vice president and chief human resources officer of JM Family Holdings, a division of JM Family Enterprises, Inc. In 2016 she moved to a senior generalist position with the parent company where she held roles of increasing responsibility, including manager of Human Resources and senior manager of People Strategy, before being named director of People Strategy in 2022.

Prior to joining JM Family, Bascome spent several years with Motorola Inc. where she first honed her Human Resources skills.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University and a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification. She resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her husband and their two children.

In his role, LeFevre leads the development and execution of JM Family Holdings’ strategic growth initiatives. He brings to the company over 13 years of leadership experience in P&L management, financial and strategic planning, and financial analysis.

Before joining JM Family, LeFevre served as director of FP&A at Keter North America. He previously held senior finance roles at GOJA, Honeywell and Newell Brands.

LeFevre earned an MBA in international business from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.

Stephen P. Brent Sergot is president of Southeast Toyota Distributors, the world’s largest independent distributor of Toyotas and a subsidiary of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., a privately held company with $22.8 billion in revenue and more than 5,000 associates. Sergot serves as a member of JM Family’s Executive Management Team, which oversees the development and implementation of the company’s long-range planning and strategies for future growth. He is also responsible for directing the overall operation of Southeast Toyota Distributors, including three vehicle processing facilities, parts supply and distribution, and Southeast Transportation Systems, Inc., the company’s automotive transport division.

A JM Family associate since 2001, Sergot has held many positions within the organization and its various subsidiaries. Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager for Southeast Toyota Distributors. Before that, he held leadership roles at sister company, Southeast Toyota Finance, including group vice president of Originations. Prior to joining JM Family,  Sergot was already an established automotive thought leader having made his mark at various industry organizations focusing on wholesale, remarketing, fleet and retail.

Sergot received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He currently resides in Delray Beach, Florida with his wife Joanna and has two children.

Scott Gunnell is president of JM&A Group, a company committed to improving automotive dealers’ performance by offering Finance & Insurance products and services, dealership training and consulting. In his position, Gunnell is responsible for directing and overseeing the activities relating to JM&A Group’s F&I, warranty products and services operations.

Prior to joining JM&A Group in 2003, Gunnell worked in the retail car industry for five years as a new and pre-owned car salesperson and F&I manager. After a year of service in JM&A Group’s Career Development Program, he was transferred to sister company, Southeast Toyota Distributors. During his eight-year tenure there, Gunnell held the position of manager of Retail Sales Training and District Sales, responsible for accounts in the Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida markets.

In 2010, Gunnell rejoined the JM&A Group team, this time as director of Sales Operations and, later promoted to group vice president of Business Strategy and Operational Excellence where he oversaw Marketing and all operational functions, including Strategy and Business Transformation, Customer Services, Product Development and Field Support. During his time with the company, Gunnell has also received corporate recognition for his excellence in management.

Gunnell graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. He is an active supporter and board member of GIVT, a local charity founded by his wife. He, along with his wife and two children, resides in Boca Raton, Florida, where he is a member of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

Gunnell joined sister company Southeast Toyota Distributors in 1998, beginning his career in the customer loyalty department. Over the years, he has held numerous field and leadership roles in fixed operations and sales, parts and service marketing, as well as operational leadership roles at both the parts distribution center and the Westlake vehicle processing center.

In 2023, Gunnell was named group vice president of portfolio management for SET Finance, where he oversaw credit administration, credit risk, pricing, analytics and data functions.

Dan Chait is president and is chief executive officer of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., a privately held company with $22.8 billion in revenue and more than 5,000 associates. As CEO, Chait leads an exceptional team of associates. Under his leadership, JM Family has upheld its purpose-driven and results-oriented legacy, which enables its business partners to succeed and surpass customer expectations. At the same time, he has maintained JM Family’s associate-centric culture and champions innovation to further the company’s reach for the benefit of all stakeholders. 

With deep roots at JM Family, Chait has collaborated closely with JM Family’s leadership to navigate the dynamic automotive industry and align strategic priorities. He has established strong relationships in the automotive, financial, and banking industries, successfully leading the company through fluctuating business cycles. During his tenure, he has also fostered significant relationships with Toyota and the companies’ dealer partners.

Chait, who was named chief operating officer in May 2023 and president in March 2024, previously held the role of president of subsidiary companies JM&A Group and Southeast Toyota Finance. He joined Southeast Toyota Finance in 2002 as vice president of Asset Management. He rose through the ranks, becoming group vice president in 2007, senior vice president in 2011, and president in 2012. Before joining JM Family, Chait held senior positions at US Airways, AutoNation and UniCapital Corporation.

Chait earned his Master of Business Administration and bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Rochester. In 2019 he was named chairman of the American Financial Services Association board of directors, of which he has been a member since 2015. He resides in Wellington, Florida, with his wife and they have four children.

Brown joined the family-owned business in 1992 as vice president and general counsel. He was appointed chief operating officer in 1997 and president in 2000. Brown served as president and CEO from 2003 to 2018, the first non-family member to hold the titles of first president and then CEO. In July 2018, Brown moved solely into the role of chairman of the board for JM Family.

Often recognized for his corporate and community leadership, Brown was named the 2015 Floridian of the Year by Florida Trend magazine for raising JM Family’s minimum wage to $16/hour. Today, the company’s minimum wage has risen to $20/hour. Brown was also named the Broward County Business Leader of the Year by the Sun Sentinel, one of its four Excalibur Awards for 2011. Additionally, he was recognized by Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business as 2018 Business Leader of the Year.

In 2008, he became a member of the Board of Directors for the Automotive Hall of Fame, a role he held through 2023. He has also been a member of the Broward Workshop since 2003, a forum of top business leaders that addresses critical issues facing Broward County. Additionally, Brown is chairman of the CEO Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, which markets and promotes South Florida as a premier location for businesses.

From 2005 through 2023, Brown served on United Way of Broward County’s Board of Directors. Among his contributions was playing a key role in creating Mission United through fundraising and leadership.  He is a member of the organization’s Tocqueville Society, founded by United Way of America to celebrate philanthropic leaders who are devoted to solving our communities’ most pressing challenges. Brown also served on the Board of Directors of the Youth Automotive Training Center from 2007 through 2023.

Brown graduated from Duke University School of Law with a juris doctorate and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. He is a lifetime member of the Board of Visitors for Duke University School of Law and is a board member of the Williams College Alumni Fund. Raised overseas in a Foreign Service family, Brown resides in Lighthouse Point, Florida, and has three children and four grandchildren.
