JM Family Enterprises Supports Various Associate-Led Affinity Groups

As part of the company’s continued efforts to cultivate a work environment that is diverse and inclusive, JM Family Enterprises has recently introduced or revamped several voluntary, associate-led affinity groups.

“Our associates have such diverse experiences, backgrounds and interests – both personally and professionally. Through our Affinity Groups, we can provide an environment where associates feel encouraged to create valuable and mutually beneficial relationships with peers, while leveraging their unique perspectives in a way that supports our values and nurtures JM Family’s inclusive culture,” said Carmen Johnson, executive vice president of Human Resources and Legal.

JM Family’s newest group, the Pride Network, strives to encourage LGBTQ+ associates and their friends and allies to bring their whole, authentic selves to work. Open to all, Pride Network is a place for associates to come together for learning, connection and celebration. With a recent wave of events that challenge the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community, this affinity group will open the door for all members to come together and support each other and their communities.

The newly reintroduced Rising Leaders group, formerly the JM Family Young Professionals, was formed so that growth-minded associates could continue their professional development through social, educational, and community events. The group is focused on establishing connections between Rising Leaders and associates who are invested in developing them, also known as Advocates.

Also worth noting, more than 200 associates from across JM Family have or are currently serving their country, representing every branch of the United States Military. The Veterans & Military Family Group is a safe space for Veterans, current military members and military family members, to share stories, learn about community partners and discover new ways to connect and serve from where they are.

Parents Connect was created to help provide support and resources to parents, caregivers and those who want to help others who are.

Affinity groups provide associates with a safe space to share experiences and come together in a supportive environment. They can also create awareness, drive a more inclusive environment and help support organizational business goals.
