JM Family Enterprises names Janet Link Senior Vice President and General Counsel

JM Family Enterprises, a privately held company with more than $22.8 billion in revenue, named Janet Link its new senior vice president and general counsel, serving as senior advisor on all legal, enterprise risk and government relations matters. She is a member of the executive management team (EMT).

Prior to joining JM Family, Link served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Stanley Black & Decker Inc., where she led the company’s legal, compliance, government relations, sustainability, philanthropy and external communications functions. She has also served as general counsel of JCPenney Company Inc., and as deputy general counsel for Clear Channel Communications Inc.

Her legal career began with a U.S. District Court clerkship in the Central District of California, followed by a clerkship with Judge James R. Browning of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Yale University and her juris doctor from Columbia University School of Law.
