Investing in the Future – Southeast Toyota Distributors Commemorates 20 Years in Westlake

It was more than 20 years ago when Southeast Toyota Distributors, the world’s largest independent distributor of Toyota vehicles, looked to expand its capabilities in the region. In the winter of 2003, the business launched a vehicle processing center (VPC) in the Westlake Industrial Park in the northwest part of Jacksonville, FL. The venture initially inhabited 250 acres of land — 280,000 square feet of which was dedicated to a $53 million processing facility.

Over the next two decades, the processing facility continued to grow, currently housing more than 425 associates. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, the VPC now features 12 buildings, 100 acres of blacktop and a 50-car railhead created to aid in the management of vehicle delivery and accessory installations for Toyota dealers throughout the Southeast. The location recently set a new standard in the industry by processing a total of 162,308 vehicles and installing 230,165 accessories throughout 2021.

Initially pioneering development in the area, the flourishing facility has continued plans of expansion with the addition of its parts distribution center. This new complex will be next door to the current VPC with an anticipated opening date of 2024.

Additionally, Southeast Toyota Distributors continues its expansion in Jacksonville with the announcement of its new VPC in agreement with the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT). The facility will open in early 2025 on JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal, relocating and modernizing current vehicle processing operations.
