Going the Extra Mile: JM Family Associates Hit the Pavement to Support Charitable Causes

Although still separated by a global pandemic, associates from JM Family Enterprises and its subsidiaries continue to come together virtually for various walk/run events in support of local causes. Through the first quarter of 2021, JM Family donated more than $40,000 to support five community partners and their charitable events. Given the new virtual format of these events, associates were encouraged to participate whenever and wherever they were able.

Events between January and March of 2021 included:

17th Annual KIDS Hero 5K and 10K
Associates released their inner superheroes, walking and running in costume for the annual KIDS Hero event, which benefitted the children and families supported by Kids In Distress in South Florida.

24th Annual Dunn’s Run 5 Mile and 5K
The annual Dunn’s Run 5 Mile and 5K Walk/Run supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. This year’s race also honored automotive legend Rick Case for his 34 years of dedication to the organization.

Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation’s K-9 5K
Associates from JM Family subsidiary DataScan, which is based in Georgia, took to the streets in a showing of support for the men, women and K-9s who enhance the quality of life for those in the City of Alpharetta.

Walk for the Animals
Several associates and their furry family members joined the pack to help raise funds for the Broward Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals. This event supported the organization’s mission to provide veterinary care and find loving homes for animals in need.

American Heart Association Heart Walk
The 2021 Broward Heart Walk Digital Experience raised funds to support American Heart Association projects and research. Associates in St. Louis and Jacksonville are scheduled to take part in their local Heart Walk events later in the year.
