JM Family Named a 2021 Best Workplaces for Millennials

Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine have honored JM Family Enterprises as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Millennials™. Coming in at No. 70, JM Family is one of only two large South Florida-based companies to be recognized. This is the company’s sixth consecutive year being named to this prestigious list.

“At JM Family, our associates are the reason behind our success, and we strive to create a work environment that appropriately represents our appreciation for all of their dedication and hard work,” said Carmen Johnson, executive vice president of Human Resources and Legal. “It is a tremendous honor to be recognized because of the positive feedback from our millennial associates, who make up approximately 32% of our population.”

Programs and benefits intended to enhance the work environment for all associates include:

Pandemic Toolkit: In a year with many hurdles, associates of all ages faced new and unique challenges on the work front. To combat some of these concerns, JM Family prevented workforce reductions and furloughs by establishing a Pandemic Leave Toolkit to support associates who either contracted COVID-19, had a family member who was needed care, or who had their circumstances altered due to a lack of childcare. The company also granted Paid Time Off for associates to get their vaccinations, and a $50 Wellness Incentive for those who became vaccinated.

Development: Taking job security one step further, JM Family continued to offer competitive development programs, including the Education Assistance Program and nextGRAD, to nurture the personal and professional growth of associates. An official Mentorship Program was also established in 2020 with 70 participants and 29 mentoring pairs.

DE&I: JM Family capitalizes on the diversity of its associates and the depth of knowledge, insights and creativity afforded to a workforce with varying backgrounds and opinions. In 2020, the company made it a priority to expand awareness and create a greater culture of inclusion by launching a new intranet site for associates to explore topics associated with diversity, equity and inclusion. This platform and the forums which have been created as a result, ensure that there is a safe space for all to share ideas and be heard.

The Best Workplaces for Millennials award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 5.3 million current employees. In that survey, 93% of JM Family’s associates said it is a great place to work.
