Janet Link is senior vice president and general counsel of JM Family Enterprises Inc., a privately held company with $22.8 billion in revenue and more than 5,500 associates. Rooted in automotive and united in its strong culture and core values, JM Family is deeply invested in its companies, associates and the communities it serves.
In her role, Link is responsible for the company’s legal matters as well as for enterprise risk and government relations. She is a member of the executive management team.
Prior to joining JM Family in 2025, Link served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Stanley Black & Decker Inc., where she led the company’s legal, compliance, government relations, sustainability, philanthropy and external communications functions. Her previous leadership roles include general counsel of JCPenney Company Inc., and deputy general counsel for Clear Channel Communications, Inc. Earlier in her career, as a partner in a global law firm, Link represented several Japan-based automakers.
Link began her legal career with a clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, followed by a clerkship with Judge James R. Browning of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Yale University and her juris doctor from Columbia University School of Law. Link currently resides in Florida.
