JM Family Enterprises, Habitat for Humanity of Broward Celebrate More Than 25 Years of Partnership and 50th Home Built for South Florida Families
June 30, 2026
For more than 25 years, JM Family Enterprises and Habitat for Humanity of Broward have partnered around a shared belief: strong communities begin with families having a stable place to call home. That commitment recently reached a meaningful milestone as the organizations surpassed 50 homes built together and celebrated four Broward County families receiving the keys to their new homes during a dedication ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.
For JM Family, this milestone reflects a legacy rooted in Founder Jim Moran’s conviction that a company’s purpose reaches beyond its bottom line to the neighborhoods, schools and families it serves. That philosophy continues to guide the company’s community impact efforts today. Last year, JM Family contributed $58 million to nonprofit organizations, with its associates personally donating more than $1.6 million and 26,000 volunteer hours to causes that strengthen the communities where they live and work.
“A home provides more than just a place to live. It creates stability, opportunity and a foundation for families to build their future,” said Dan Chait, president and CEO of JM Family Enterprises. “That’s why our partnership with Habitat Broward has been so meaningful for more than 25 years. It’s a reflection of our founder’s belief that businesses have a responsibility to strengthen the communities they call home, and that’s a legacy we’re proud to continue carrying forward.”
The dedication ceremony brought together homeowners, volunteers, and community and business leaders who have contributed their time and talents throughout the building process. JM Family leadership reflected on the impact the partnership has had across Broward County and the lives changed along the way.
South Florida is one of the nation’s most cost-burdened regions for affordable housing. Population growth, rising prices and living expenses put homeownership out of reach for many, and places additional pressure on families and the nonprofit organizations that support them. Stable housing plays a critical role in workforce development, educational success and long-term economic mobility. When families can afford to live in the communities they serve, the benefits extend far beyond individual households.
JM Family associates regularly participate in Habitat builds, helping construct homes alongside future homeowners and fellow volunteers. More than 30 JM Family associates received the prestigious Golden Hammer for participating in all of this year’s Habitat builds.
