#ToyotaDelivers: Social Media Campaign Fuels Local Frontline Workers During Height of COVID-19 Pandemic
JM Family Enterprises Inc. and its subsidiary Southeast Toyota Distributors sponsor special deliveries to area hospitals
Throughout the summer, JM Family Enterprises and its subsidiary Southeast Toyota Distributors utilized its vast network of social media influencers to spread a bit of kindness to workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Armed with a loaner Toyota vehicle, a $500 gift card and a stack of thank you notes, influencers from throughout the company’s five-state footprint (Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas) were tasked with extending a gesture of gratitude to those on the front lines, including healthcare workers, by providing some much needed ‘fuel’ in the form of a good meal. This effort also provided a boost to local eateries that have been hit hard by pandemic closures.
“These individuals are working tirelessly in order to protect our local communities throughout this crisis,” said Lauren Fyke, public relations representative, JM Family. “In working with our partners at Toyota, we felt that this social media effort was a win-win, supporting local restaurants and struggling business owners, and saying thank you to our frontline workers, all while showing how much our organizations care about keeping our community strong.”
Campaign participants were encouraged to post about their deliveries on social media using the hashtag
#ToyotaDelivers. Following the success of the summer push and in light of the ongoing health crisis, the companies plan to continue this effort into the fall months.
“There's never been a better time to do some good in this world,” said social media influencer Stephen Bennett of
Uncommon Caribbean. “Our friends at Toyota feel the same way and we're proud to have joined with them to provide lunch for frontline medical professionals fighting COVID-19 at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.”
