JM Family Enterprises Inc. is pleased to share the results of its
Making Waves with United Way campaign, which supports
United Way of Broward County. More than 750 employees raised $533,822 as part of the annual donation drive which took place from August 14 – September 1. This is the largest amount of money raised in the nearly 25 year history of the campaign and a $72,150 increase over last year’s total.
“We’re so proud to partner with the JM Family team once again to raise crucial funds with this campaign,” said Kathleen Cannon, President & CEO of United Way of Broward County. “The goal was to make this fun and inclusive for all associates – every dollar matters.”
JM Family associates were offered an array of incentives for raising the funds. For example, employees who donated a certain amount were issued “ride passes” for an inflatable, mechanical surfboard -- known as the Turbo Surf machine -- that was stationed at the JM Family office entrance.
Other prizes for those employees who donated included raffle tickets, “jeans day” stickers, iPads, FitBits, DeLonghi Coffee Systems and Go Pros. The top prize was a trip on Gallant Lady boats - a fishing trip or brunch cruise for the selected associates and six guests.
"For the eighth year in a row, we experienced record support for our annual United Way giving campaign, with JM Family associates generously donating in excess of $530,000 of their hard-earned dollars to help create a stronger South Florida," said Colin Brown, chairman and CEO of JM Family Enterprises. "We are hopeful that the funds generated as part of this year's campaign will have a positive ripple effect toward the community's most critical needs."
Funds raised from the campaign will be used for United Way of Broward County’s programs including financial stability, emergency needs, improving people’s health, substance abuse prevention, youth success and the veteran assistance program.
